I'm considering trying this. Increasingly I'm noticing that my fixed stock rifle balances better and has better cheek weld than the adjustable stocks.

Also, the fixed stocks strike me as being sturdier.

I might try Cavalrys A1 stock and epoxy a QD sling swivel socket into it (yes I know, use a magpul...it's kind of ugly though)

Yes, I've seen many 16 inch rifles with the full A2 stock.  Many were sold new that way.

I did it back during the ban days. Well balanced, good shooters.

A1 on my 12.5" SBR

Wouldn't have it any other way. Besides, hold up everyone's precious collapsible stock and almost every one of them, barring manlets and gigantors, will be A1 length anyhow

ETA pic, and I just remembered even the Apocalyptic AR is A1 too and the GWACS lower build is aswell. A1 literally all the things

I luvzmesum A1/A2 Stock on precision rifles using LT scope mounts.

BUTT!!! doesn't your weather in the MO change enough to say, "da-da-damn, that Magpul ACS/CTR ain't bad."?

My only AR has an A2 stock and I’m very happy. I plan on building another at some point and will probably go another route. That being said, my dad was issued an XM177E2 in Vietnam and changed out the collapsible stock for an A1. It should’ve caused him problems with the buffer but it didntZ

What fits me best is the A1 stock size.  Of that size, the very original AR15 stock for the Air Force that had a rubber butt plate.

I have an A1 (VN issue with rubber buttplate) length fixed on my midlength with A2 sights  (tritium). That's the one for me. KISS, light, good sling, no nonsense.

Do you have any video shooting it?

I paired an A2 stocked lower with a PSA Mock dissipator.

Very soft recoil

A2 stock's LOP is too short for me and my 16" barrel.  Would like to add about 12" to the A2 stock...THEN it would be worthy of my 16".

Sure, very common in 2001. My first AR was a 16” with an A2. I find the A2 a bit too long but the A1 works better. I do like the Magpul FCS too.

I've got two with A2 stocks, one carbine length and one midlength. It's very nice, I like.

I prefer the fixed stock rifles, Especially the A1. My hands down favorite is an 18 inch barreled 6.8 with a Magpul rifle stock which is close to A1 length.
https://www.joeboboutfitters.com/MAGPUL-AR-15-MOE-Rifle-Stock-p/mag-404.htm

I'll probably keep one AR with a collapsible stock, The rest are going to wear fixed stocks eventually.

A1 is my favorite stock.
Ironically Kalifornistans laws make the collapsing stocks easier than the fixed A1

Thanks
and no

I got a self contained CMC $99 trigger for it to (hopefully) fix it's trigger issue so once I get that stuck in there I'll see what I can do on finally getting a video out

Wife's first AR.  This is what she thought she wanted.

It's an SBR R631P after SSG Barnes' carbine now.

I need to take a better photo, but it's between an A1 and A2 because of the extra buttpad.

I give up... what truck is that?  The bumperettes and placement look like a 715 but the bed otherwise doesn't look right.  Mighty Mite?

That's the plan with my newest build.

A1 buttstock, 16" middy barrel, 13" ALG V0E handguard and Geiselle GBT trigger.

The barrel and bolt carrier group was shipped yesterday but who knows when the ALG wrench will ship.  Could be 4-6 weeks.

But l might be able to dummy build it this weekend and snap a pic.  And check the feel of it with the different stocked lowers l have.

What I came here to post. Those Magpul stocks can usually be had for around $30 or so. They also have some kind of space adapter to use the Magpul ASAP end plate.

Yep, during the ban days. When my kids were young swapped for adjustable stocks so they could shoot comfortably. Now, honestly, I change the LOP to adjust for thick or thin outter layers.
