Quoted: How is it that you speak in from of so many people? Are you a preacher? Musician?

No, just a lot of public or semi-public speaking (not really "speaches"). Some random examples:
- Boy Scouts (MC'd events, ran flag ceremony, etc.)
- School (MC'd and/or introduced folks at rallys, band events, and so forth)
- Training - I've done a LOT of new employee training at various jobs, as well as on-going training.
- Projects - I've had to explain projects or give status reports to the IT department of my last company, which numbered over 800 people at one point.
- DJing
- I've been a "special guest operator" for the Demon rollercoaster at (what is now) Paramount's "Great America" a couple of times.
- I was always "volunteered" to "go talk" in the sound booth in Audio Engineering class so the instructor could show the rest of the class how to use various pieces of gear in the studio. The Demon schpiel was a favorite.
I generally have no problem with public speaking *as long as I know the subject matter*. If I *don't* know it, and I'm supposed to or expected to, that's when I might get anxious. I've had that happen, due to a very poorly planned event that I was called in to "help" at the last minute. Not knowing the answers to questions the crowd expects an answer for SUCKS. I hate to look stupid.
