I work at a law firm, entering all of the parties and their information in to our database and Attorney Info Management system for each case. Since I took over as the only one doing this job since January, I have processed about 3k new cases ( for a total of 7 offices). So that is about 30k individual entries.

I am somewhere between 97-98%. What my boss doesn't understand is that I am human and will make a small typo once and a while. Also the database system will crash on me a lot. I have screen capped 340 crashes since Jan 23rd. With about another 100-150 not captured. This shitty fucking system will crash 3-5 times while trying to finish one entry.

There isn't really anything IT can do about it besides clear out some reports on the back end of the system, but it is only a temp fix at best.

For some reason my supervisor and boss fail to see how this can affect my accuracy, let alone my sanity.

What I want to know from the hive, is what is your accuracy rate ?

Also thank you for reading the very weak rant, i just really don't want to rile my self up this early at work...

I was worried, until I saw you are in Fl.

Not our software. I won't have to talk to your IT.

Tell them to eliminate your job and go to a voice recognition system if they want to see the accuracy rate go in the shitter.

There are no Data Entry jobs left where I live.

Type into Notepad, WordPad, Excel, or whatever, then cut and paste?

Is this day and age, everyone is in data entry.... for the Government.  BOOM! Headshot.

I've done, back in the day.  That job has always sucked.  Anything less than 100% and you're fair game.

As I tell everyone here that I train, "Save early, save often."

My best accuracy comes when I have headphones on while listening to nothing-noise.  Classical music, talk radio that is too low to hear or I don't pay attention to, or just something to keep out the coworker noise.

Paying attention helps. It's  hard to ignore somethings, though.

When I was a 491x0 I used to get operator of the week/month all the time. Even got shift supv as a SrA over a Sgt FckOff.  Gotta be sharp.
