Is this in a mall? That's some heavy hardware for a Mall Ninja. Here is the story Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, Illinois, on Lockdown Due to Possible Armed Men in Mall January 26, 2009 by Julia Bodeeb Julia Bodeeb Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, Illinois, is on lockdown because witnesses reported seeing two suspicious men, possibly around age 20, near Door 6, an upper level entrance to the mall. One of the men entering the Woodfield Mall may have been armed with a handgun according to College News. The 300 stores and restaurants in the Woodfield mall are being searched by police to try to find the suspects. College News reports that Shoppers were allowed to remain in the mall during the lockdown. However, no one was allowed to enter the mall. Thus far, police have not found the suspects in the mall. The search continues around the perimeter of the mall outside and more remote areas inside of the mall. This is just another sign of the gun problem in America. Too many schools are being shot up by young men, and too often gang disputes end up being settled at the mall with gun violence too. Too many of America's young men carry a gun with them daily, licensed or unlicensed. Shoppers at any mall might be horrified if they knew just how many of the other shoppers have concealed weapons on them. America is a bit too heavily armed these days. Some people are acting like they will have to fight off some enemy at any moment and want the gun power to be able to win that fight. We have seen too many school student traumatized by unexpected murders with guns at school. Is the mall the next spot where American rage is going to display itself via mass shootings? There are many reasons why I don't like going to the mall. I guess now I can add possible gun violence to the list. Anywhere teens and twenty-somethings congregate there will be a lot of weapons. The mall if full of young adults with a need to socialize, shop, and utilize their right to bear arms. I don't really think a weapon is necessary for a shopping trip to the mall, but that is just my opinion. I think it is far too easy to obtain weapons in America. Our country is seeing the ill effects of too easy access to guns over the past several decades. We have too many murders with guns, too much crime in which a weapon is shown as a threat, and too many young men think it is a sign of manliness to own a gun. http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/1421866/woodfield_mall_in_schaumburg_illinois.html |
