I am planning to do a clean re install of my OS.  I need to back up all my MS Outlook 2003 emails and be able to reinstall all those email on my fresh Office 2k3 install.  Anybody have some step by steps or a link?  Thanks.  I tried this 7mos ago and tried to follow the archive instructions for Office 2k3, but lost it all.

Thanks.

File > import and export >export to a file > personal folder file > select personal folders *and check the box to include subfolders.*

DO NOT FORGET to check that box, otherwise it won't back up anything.  Make sure that the PST file is at least a few MB in size... possibly hundreds... depending on how much stuff you have in your folders.

To reload your backup after the reformat, just go back to import and export, and select "import from another program or file".

You can also back up your e-mail settings, docuent folders, and all program settings specific to your profile (assuming you ghave Win2k or XP), by using the files and settings transfer wizard.  Look under PRograms/accessories/system tools/Files and Settings Transfer wizard.

You can use the wizard to carefully tailor what is saved and made ready for transfer.  I strongly suggest you have the wizard copy your profile to an external hard disk or to a location where it can be burnt to a DVD.

Honestly, when I do a reinstall or set up a new computer, this is the only way to fly.
