| Anyone pay for an annual amazon prime membership? I'm in the middle of the free trial (I figured christmas would be a good time to save some dough on shipping), and I have to say, its come in pretty handy...I was able to order a DVI splitter last night at 6pm and its supposed to be delievered today, shipping cost $4. I dont know if I am just enamored by the free 2 day shipping im getting right now, but I am seriously considering pulling the trigger on the year for $80...thoughts and opinions from subscribers are appreciated. |

With all of the shopping I have done for Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries, etc. it has saved me money. Depends on how much you buy as to whether it's worth it or not. |

i dont have it and usually shop around for the $25 free 3-5 day shipping. that said, i know its possible to use general email addresses (such as google, yahoo, excite, ect...) as your profile email. so can you just create a new profile every year around christmas to get the free trial again? or do you need to give them your credit card info or something?
but, if you do buy a lot throughout the year it may be good for you, i just dont. |

I bought it last year. It's not quite as good as I expected. 1)Not all items qualify for free shipping, and 2)Those that do, can sometimes be more expensive than the exact same item found elsewhere in Amazon, or bought locally. It *is* great for books though. (Or "was"–––– I'm getting a Kindle for Christmas So, it you buy a lot of books, or if you take the time to comparison shop (and make sure the delivery fee isn't already reflected in the price of the product), it can be a good deal. All that said, it did save me some money, and I'll probably re-join this year.

It paid for itself in 2 purchases I made this year. 1. HP OfficeJet 8500 Pro that I have overnighted for 3.99 (it had a ship weight of 48Lbs). 2. A whole set of LODGE Cast Iron cookware (dutch oven with lid, 12" skillet, 10" skillet, 10" flat pan) all shipped 2-day Free. I also have allowed access (up to 5) to my wife, mother and father (using their various email/Amazon accounts). For me it's worth it. |

I do most of my shopping on Amazon now, and between no shipping and no tax, I've saved a boatload of money. It's really nice when you buy something that weighs 50lbs+ and pay nothing for 2nd day shipping. If you must get something next day, $4.00 to overnight an item is hard to beat too. |

Yes - it's been worthwhile to me. |

Just before Thanksgiving we found out we were having some additional people spend the night. I ordered a 25lb inflatable bed from Amazon just before 6pm. I sprung for the $3.99 overnight shipping option. Had the bed before noon the next day. Where else can you get heavy packages shipped overnight for so little $$$? |
