I pick up change off the ground every day, normally a few cents a day sometimes 50cents or rarely a dollar coin.

I find atleast 1 cent every day on lunch, sometimes more.

Am I the only one who even looks or are people just to lazy to pick it up.

I found a $20 in a store once.

<---  All the time.

Over the course of two weeks I usually end up with enough quarters to do a couple loads of laundry, plus a handfull of other coins.  Don't find too many bills, but I pick them up too

I don't spot money on the ground too often but when I do it has to be at least a quarter.

I don't bend over for less.

Although, all my pocket change goes into a jar at the end of the day [except pennies].

If they made a half-penny coin, I'd still pick up every one I could find.
I found a Ten Dollar Bill a couple of weeks ago and very nearly did the Snoopy Dance of Joy.

I have a gallon coin container. I've never gotten it past half-full, but even then it was damned near enough to buy a new handgun, and over enough for a pump shotgun or CMP Garand. Oh, damn.. Garand, THAT'S what I should have gotten!

I know someone who is doing that with one of those big plastic coke bottles, when its full they are going to piss it away on their car.

Even picking up pennies I could make more picking up money than working at my job.  Think how quickly you can pick up a coin.  1 second or less.  If you were picking up coins for a living you could pick up multiple each time you bent over.  At that point it is probably a half second or less.  Thats $1.20  per minute.  So yeah, I pick up all I can.

I always pick up any form of U.S. currency, even pennies.  I figure it's lucky.  How can it not be?  You're at least ahead by one cent.  How bad is that?

I pick up change all the time. I also check the coin return thingy on vending machines and newspaper boxes. I've found lots of money people have left there.

Warren Buffet (2nd richest American, behind Bill Gates) was observed picking up a penny as he was getting off an elevator. After the doors closed, one of those remaining in the elevator told the other, "there is the beginning of another billion dollars."

Coins

There is a superstition about coins.  That superstition is that if you pick up a coin on heads, it is lucky but if you pick a coin on tails it is unlucky.  Many bad things have happened to people who pick up a coin on tails.  People have lost their jobs because they picked up a penny on tails.  They have also failed their SATs and broken their arms three times in a row.

When people have found a coin that was lucky they have achieved wonderful goals like getting onto the swim team and winning "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" on tax free week.

If you think you can handle all the bad things that will happen to you, pick up a coin on tails and find out for yourself.  Of course, if youíre feeling lucky, pick up a penny on heads and get the good things too.

Always!

I was really surprised when I went to NYC some years ago to find coins and even some $5 bills on the street, in plain sight.

It also bothered the Hell out of me that they didn't accept 1c coins as part of payment... Why are they using them???

sometimes I'll take my bicycle out early on sunday morn and pick up lose change around town to the amount of 2-4$ or so.  I always pick up every pennie I see (superstitious).   I have found, in the past, about lots of singles maybe five 5$ bills, a coupla 10's, three twenties and half a hundred dollar bill   (never did determine if it was real or not, finally misplaced it).   So, yes, I'm a BIG change picker-upper.....  oh yea, I have also found lots of other useful item that the drunks have accidently kicked out of their cars such as, cell phones, sunglasses tools and other bits of odds and ends that may or may not come in useful sometime.

I pick up change all the time.  Most of the time, its small money like pennies and nickles, but I love picking up the change at the toll booth.  I just open my door, make like I'm picking up my toll and grab 3-4 quarters at a time.  Nowadays, I actually make a toll (instead of paying one) going through the toll booth.  And most people tooling around in their huge SUVs can't reach that far

Back in my high school days my friends and I would go to house parties on the weekend. One night we ended up at a punk-rock party. There was a punk band and people moshing, and a bunch of skinheads at the party. The skins would throw a couple pennies on the floor - it was called a Jew trap. Anyone who would pick up pennies was considered to be a Jew and would get their ass beat by a bunch of drunk skinheads. So be careful where you pick up money.

I've seen quarters on the bottom of urinals back when urinals had water in them...they're never there when I came back and piss again later.

Supergluing a dime or quarter to the floor in a public area like a mall is a cheap thrill to watch to.  Shades of Candid Camera.

I found an ATM card sticking out of a ATM machine last year and the machine was squawking "Please remove your card...please remove your card..."  But the machine was at work and I was able to instant message owner and return the card to her.

I will still bend over to pick up a penny...sometimes I linger too long in the bent over position.  Why would that be?
