The longer I go without a drink, the more depressed I get. It is because of this, I have come to the conclusion that alcohol is good for me. In light of this conclusion, some PBR and Jameson will be consumed after I hit the submit button on this thread. What are you drinking tonight?

Shouchou is often my go to, but then again I enjoy Laphroiag Quater Cask. If any alcohol is brewed with sesame, the taste is like turpentine, not very pleasant- then again, with skill sesame adds an interesting flavor. |

Alcoholism isn't a problem with alcohol. Alcoholism is a problem living without alcohol. Kind of exactly like what you just posted. On the bright side, it's not Ebola. I can stop whenever I want.
Why would you want to stop? |

Alcohol doesn't make you smarter, doesn't make you better looking, and doesn't make you wealthier. I skip it. Wise words... I disagree. I feel that civilization itself is a direct result of alcohol. It reduces inhibitions I'll drink to that! |
| Not sure if you're serious about the depression being relieved by alcohol but if you are I remember reading an interesting study that gave some info that could be relevant. I have looked for it but not found it yet. It showed that individuals of certain lineage and combinations were more likely to be affected. Consuming alcohol would relieve their depression for several days after a good drunk and then it would creep back up, they treated them with some supplements and it curbed their drinking and eliminated it in some cases. I'm still looking for it. |
