| Anyone here have any experience with them? How underpowered are they compared to 2 3/4? I'd probably only be interested in the slugs. Do they feed ok in a Mossberg 500? I'm not interested in them enough to modify my shotgun. |

From what I have read they function most reliably out of break action or single shot shotguns.
The birdshot worked well in my Winchester for 3 gun and had enough oomph to knock down steel at 25m barely. But having 12-13 shots before reloading was nice. I read somewhere that function depends on lifter design for pumps. With the open design of the 500's lifter it might not work. |

Yeah I read somewhere that they're hit and miss in a 500 unless you buy one of their modified shell elevators. They claim the modified elevator does not affect function on standard loads but like I said, I'm not interested in it enough to modify my shotgun. |

I like them for my 9 1/4" barreled o/u 12 ga. AOW. Regular 2 3/4" shells are too painful in it, and even reduced recoil rounds are still a bit much. But, the Aguila's are perfect in it. http://www.ar15.com/media/viewFile.html?i=77886 That gun looks like fun.... Maybe it is time to get an AOW stamp to add to the collection. |

I got 4" of penetration into the end grain of some seasoned red oak. Pretty good for that little round IMHO.
One problem though. if your shotgun has a skeltonized loading gate like my Mossburg 500 the rounds can hang straight down from the gate by their rims instead of cycling into the chamber. That was my experience. Because of that, I don't buy them. I want to be able to shoot any of my ammo in any of my weapons of same caliber/gauge. |
Not my ad, but this guy is selling a 1300 if you wanted to buy a shogun IOT use minishells.

They launch similar sized buckshot at similar velocities to full size shells.
The primary difference is that there are simply fewer pellets. Quoted:
I'm interested to know the ballistic differences. Seems like they would be a great option for a breach loaded sbs |

Here's a video MAc did on the KSG with a Salvo and mini shells. That suppressor does not seem very effective judging from that video. |

He said he had tried one and wasn't impressed enough to buy one. Certainly not an "Anton Segura" effect on a 12 gauge. |

I haven't watched this video in a while but I think all the ammo he uses is supersonic. Also he has the Salvo in the 6inch configuration. Here's a video with subsonic loads. Not my vid.

I tried them a few years ago in my unmodified Mossberg 500. The shells had the tendency of flipping backwards when feeding from the mag tube. There maybe be a simple mod to fix that but why bother when proper ammo can be had for the same price? I discovered that the trick to making them work in a Mossberg 500, is turn the shotgun upside down before you cycle the action. Gravity assist (when upside down) feeding. With the shotgun right side up, the shells flipped around as they tried to feed. I don't remember if I've tried them in the 37. |

I would probably have the same issue then because my 500 loading gate is skeletonized. |
