I put my car for sale on Auto Trader magazine and its website.  A week ago I got an email from an agent saying he's got a buyer who's interested.  I told him of the condition, service history, etc.  Today I got an email from him.  Appearantly he's in Canada, and his supposed client left him a cashier check of $25,000 to buy a car.  He wanted me to wire transfer him the difference and he will send me the cashier check and he will arrange the transportinf of the car.

Anyone not smelling the bullshit yet?

tell him that you will put cash for the differnce in the trunk of the car after the cashiers check clears.  he can get the balance with the car.

now it was canada and not nigera? hmmm  check out www.thescambaiter.com  maybe you can get some death threats like they do, some are real funny.

i use the money in the trunk line when a telemarketer gives me the you are a winner of a new car, or other prize. you just need to buy whatever they are selling.  told them to put product that they want me in the car and when they deliver the car I will buy the product they are selling.  most of the time they hang up on me.h.gif

Same thing happened to a friend of mine.  He emailed whatever government agency deals with fraud and was told it is a scam.
