So I was watching a history channel show about the USAF, i thought of a bill.
Everyone in the armed services pays for their own M16/M4/whatever issued weapon you get, out of their on pocket, but you get to keep it when you leave the military.

Thoughts?

clearly everyone in here would go for it but you'd never get it past the gun grabbers. After all, this isn't Switzerland.

Never happen.  You'd end up with a variation of this headline: "Pentagon can't order anthrax vaccinations" (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3783713/).  In fact, I'm surprised the 9th Circuit Court hasn't outlawed the military entirely.

Ahh, but for $100 down and $8000 a month, that little baby can be yours in 35 years.

Starting to sound a little better eh?

Give the 9th time. They'll declare the military unconstitutional. Something about "standing armies being dangerous to liberty".....even though they've already determined that in the 2nd Amendment, "militia" means "National Guard".

My personal weapon was not an M-16/M-4.

Can I have one of these instead?

However, I would prefer that the VLS be filled prior to delivery.
