It's a familiar refrain: The gun-grabbers clearly want to take away
your "big, ugly" semiautomatics. But, they claim, they don't support
an outright firearms ban.
Well, next week, the gun-grabbers will have an opportunity to show
their true colors.
Next week, the House is scheduled to vote on repealing Washington,
D.C.'s gun ban.
That ban -- surely the most draconian anti-gun abomination in the
country -- registers (and effectively bans) rifles and shotguns, bans
handguns, bans semiautomatics, and bans ammunition.
And, for all of its contempt for individual liberties, the District
of Columbia has moved from a relatively safe place prior to the ban
to the murder capital of the nation.
H.R. 3193 -- a bill introduced by Rep. Mark Souder (R-IN) -- will
bring an end to this travesty by repealing Washington's myriad gun
bans. It will allow D.C. residents -- once again -- to purchase
firearms to defend themselves and their families.
ACTION: Please contact your Representative and urge him or her to

D.C. gun ban. You can use the pre-written message below and send it
as an e-mail by visiting the GOA Legislative Action Center at

----- Pre-written message -----
Next week, the House will vote on H.R. 3193, Congressman Mark
Souder's bill to eliminate the D.C. gun ban. I would urge you, in
the strongest terms, to support this pro-self-defense and pro-Second
Washington, D.C. now bans virtually every type of firearm -- and
registers those few guns it graciously allows its residents to
possess. Yet, for all of its contempt for self-defense and
individual rights, the District of Columbia has become the murder
capital of the nation.
Please demonstrate that you care about the right of self-defense.
Please show that you believe the residents of D.C. and their families
should be more than "sitting ducks" to predatory criminals.
Please vote for H.R. 3193.
sounds like a nice idea to me, only the good guys can say "do it for the children" this time
