Has anyone considered this scenario on the AWB Sunset? In September it goes away, all the NRA and even the GOA members vote for George the II for President. He wins. Unknown to us, he has cut a deal with the Dems, they will approve his judges and all his financial favors to his business buddies. Then the Dems get the AWB passed w/o a sunset provision in January. The Dems can tell their supporters that they are doing something about guns, Mr. Bush gets his tax cuts and corporate pork. Plus he doesn't ever have to win another election. Am I being paranoid? Even three months of freedom are better than nothing. |

geez, guys, it's obvious that Bush is going to fuck us over. Haven't y'all been paying attention to our oh, so superior members telling about how he will do it, here's another plan of how he is going to do it, and they must be right. Either that or paranoid fools.[shock] Just like the Dems, no facts, just emotional bullshit. Mr. paranoid, the Dems don't have enough votes to renew it, so why should Bush make a deal on it? |

It makes sense to me. I think that George Bush is much more concerned with keeping power than listening to voters. He knocks down the border fences so his corporate buddies get cheap labor and lets the middle class pay for the schooling and medical benefits for the illegals, er, guest workers & families. |
| I think GWB is grabbing the classic ideologies of the left to get elected knowing that those bills will be shot down. I think and hope that he will be much more conservative his next term. I believe that the Dems will lose more seats in both houses this election. In a poll GWB is the favored canidate among the younger generation (18- 25) ! I beleive that the young people are tired of the whole Democrat rhedoric , seeing how bad those ideologies hurt the country. The gun issue is a loser and they know it , although the dems still want the AWB reinstated . They think it is a popular issue and it isn't. John Edwards beleives in the 2nd Ammendment , however " you do not need an AK-47 to hunt " . He is a hand job. That is my $.02 .[:E] |
