I am looking into producing my own line of ar-15 lower recievers, and am wondering if this may be a worthwile venture. Of course the product will be tested. TIA for any input.

Go for it, I'll be the first to volunteer to help you test those lowers!

Good luck beating out companies like Bushmaster and such. Unless you have something unique I doubt you'll get any market share of a decreacing sales item SGtar15

You wouldn't need a big market share, just a quality name. How many of us have a "cheap" AR lower around?

Haha, you'd have better luck (and more money!) selling your children to proctor and gamble for medical experiments than to make money in the firearms business.

All I am looking to do is market some once I get them produced. I am not looking to get rich, just to make some extra money. They would all be CNC machined. I am looking at the overhead cost. I guess I will just have to make a few and see how they will do.

Make both the left and right receiver walls the same thickness from the front to the back.

I can probably do that, what is the reason behind it? I have the machineist drawings, and I am sure some alteration would be easy to do, I just need to know what.

It would be for the drainage hole that would go above the IR in FIRE and through both sides of the receiver.

It looks as though my drawings show this to be the same size.

if i were you i would get into the 80% market. there are only two suppliers of these items that i am aware of, and they are tanneryshipinc, and sgtfreedom.com. we need more producers to fill this little niche.

Make one that uses cheap .45 high-cap magazines.
