Training Announcement AR-15 Close Quarters Operator Course The University of North Alabama Department of Public Safety will host a 16 hour AR-15 Close Quarters Operator Course on January 18-19, 2005, at Banquet Hall #A, GUC, located on the University of North Alabama Campus. Class will begin at 8:00 AM on January 18, 2005. Cost of the AR-15 Close Quarters Operator Course is $100.00 per participant. Tuition for the course will include refreshments, hand-outs, manuals, CDs, etc. Topics that will be covered include: History of the AR-15/M-16 Accessories One hand operation of the AR-15 Strong/weak hand operation Transition Drills Confined Area Entry Injured officer operation of AR-15 Class size is limited to 30 participants. Register early to ensure a spot. Registration deadline is January 3, 2005. Each participants needs to bring: AR-15 Platform Rifle (.223, 7.62 x 39. or .9mm) Minimum of three magazines for AR rifle 200 rds of Ammunition for AR rifle Sling (3 point or 1 point sling recommended) Handgun with three magazines 50 rds of Ammunition for handgun Duty belt with holster/ or tactical holster Hearing/eye protection Hat Body Armor (Tactical or Concealable) Optional equipment: Hydration Equipment (canteen/ Camelback) Kevlar Helmet Knee/Elbow Pads Rain Gear Other tactical equipment normally utilized The course has been approved by A.P.O.S.T.C. for 16 hours of CEU credits.
