| Since Friday afternoon/Friday night my left side of my jaw has been swollen in an area about the size of a golf ball. The inside of my mouth on my cheek is painful if I spit, chew food, or press my tongue on that side. Cant get into the doctor until Wednesday at the earliest. Anybody else experience this at all, and if so what was it? |

Have thought about it, isn't something to where the pain Is so unbearable you cant stand it. So I figured I shouldn't bother with a trip unless it gets so unbearable I cant stand it. Quoted:

That's a lot of time between Friday and Wednesday if you ask me...... |

What's the solution or remedy to this problem? Quoted:

You have a stone in your salivary duct. What's the solution or remedy to this problem? If it's infected, antibiotics... and some sort of sialogogue (something to make you salivate). If it's not infected, and just blocked, use the sialogogue alone. You could cut up lemons/limes, but that gets messy. Honestly? I recommend sour patch kids. Get the big bag. If it's an abscess, it's probably either cutaneous, or odontogenic (from a bad tooth). You'll need surgical drainage for that... +/- antibiotics. ETA: I have also seen the occasional stone require surgical removal by an ENT... but that's uncommon. |

I've had a sialolith blocking the parotid duct, with a little pus behind it. It hurt and eventually tasted foul.
Without knowing exactly what is causing your malady, I say get medical care. You don't want a case of Ludwig's angina. That makes ER docs, anesthesiologists, and surgeons a little edgy. I don't enjoy those airways. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ludwig's_angina |

Swelling is right on the jawline and a little above and below the jawline. No pics as its underneath my beard and the only way to know its there is by feel. Quoted:

Could be a dental abscess that has invaded the submandibular space. Do you experience discomfort when chewing on that side? Spontaneous pain? |

True story. I managed to crank open a Ludwig's jaw and sneak a fiberoptic in, on a very tough intubation. We had the cric kit and jet vent at the bedside. When the tube was in, the OMF surgeon said, "I'm glad you didn't have to do a cric." Me: ![]() ![]() "That's why I had you standing there."
Surgeon: "I figured you'd do it." Me: "Last one of those I did was either on a cadaver or mannequin. If I, as an anesthesia guy, am doing a surgical airway in a hospital, it's dire. You may start surgery now." |

Might want to get checked out to make sure it's not this. Seriously.
