AC went out in my truck 4 years ago. About a week after the one year warranty on the reman unit ran out the compressor quit.  Well this year 4 and I've since grown tired of changing reman units out that go out after warranty is expired.

Well I purchased a "brand new factory oem" compressor, dryer, the works.

Is it really necessary to flush a AC system? If so how difficult is it and how do you do it?

Just always been under perception that crap in system gets caught in the dryer

not just the dryer, anything left over lines, might crap out the new compressor.
also most warranties require you flush.

If the compressor failed internally then the material shavings will be distributed throughout the system. If you don't flush the system they can cause a blockage or damage a new compressor. It's cheap insurance for the new unit and will let you keep the warranty intact.

May as well piggyback on this.

What if the compressor is good, but one recharged with R134 with "sealant" in it? (I know, I know)  I figure I need to change the filter drier, but what about the compressor and the Tx valve?
