I'm an old time carbon steel snob, but i needed a small stainless fixed blade knife to fix to my fishing kayak vest. Saw this little "neck knife" made by Cold Steel. It does not arrive razor sharp, so it had a date with whetstones.
Never sharpened a stainless like this thing. It resisted the whetstone like a high carbon steel. Noticed "AUS 8A" stamped on the blade. Research online showed that steel is produced in Japan. I'm not recommending this particular knife, but i am recommending anything with this AUS 8A steel.  Attached File |
