I prefer the 9mm 'cause that's the caliber of my Hi-Point carbine. There, I think that puts me at 15 or 16!

I don't know if I can post pics on AR15.com...I thought that 'nekkid ladies' with or without firearms were not 'acceptable' here. I guess this is one for the mods to answer...

I can and will however put pics on AK47.net...shoot, over there, the mods ask for em...[:D]

So, I guess I will await a reply from the mods...is a semi-nude pic ok here? I don't want to end up banned for 'pornography' or anything like that...I only post pics w/ firearms...and obviously for this board, I would pose w/ my CAR15...shake the magic 8-ball and let me know...

.45 is the best choice. 230 grains of mass versus 115 grains. Duh!

9mm is the best choice. 18 shots from my Hi-Power versus 8 shots from a 1911. It doesn't matter how big the bullet is if you are out of them.
If the NYPD had had 1911's, Diala would only have been shot 32 times. [pistol]

They make hi-cap mags for a reason. 9mm is anemic. It may be alright for gangbangers and wannabes. When they absolutely, positively, gotta die, 45acp,1911. One shot done!

Still no word from the mods on pics???

Oh, and BTW...I carry a G26 w/ 2 hi-cap mags...if I can't hit/stop something w/ 22rds...I am prolly fecked anyway...she does me well (wow, that sounded kinda pervy, eh?[0:)], my bad)

If you plan on buying a 9mm you might as well poke them with a sharp stick less money and as much damage. .45 sig my choice

No Sheep hit it right on the money.Hit some drug crazed idiot in the arm and he will keep on swinging with a 9mm.Hit the same spot with a 45 and you will break the bone. It's late and am just trying to be a member again.

It's UZI 9mm over UZI .45ACP.

32rds of 9mm compared to a mere 16 for .45ACP.

seems to me that the freak that shot up the two offices in atlanta a couple of years ago had a 9 and a .45.
those that were shot with the 9 survived, those shot with the.45 did not, boxer.

Sorry if I confused things, I was speaking of a Pict. of Lil' Ed. LOL, whoops.

My girls are the best part of my life.
Oh, and that includes Mrs. Del too.
Without them there would be much less love in my life.
FWIW,
Mrs. Del likes the 9mm Taurus 99.
I like my Glock 30 .45.
With the right ammo both are extremely effective and superbly accurate.

Ed, sorry you didnt like my humor. Sophmoric? definately. Funny? I thought so. It was only poking fun at a real situation. I didnt think any would find it offensive.
I guess I found another line. They`re getting harder to see in my old age.

OH...silly me...I can do baby pics anytime...sorry for the mix-up...

Mr. Avila...could you perhaps answer my question about pics though? TIA

I am thinking about trying a G30...I would definatley have to practice with it before I just started carrying it though. The reason I carry the G26 is because I am comfortable with it...and in a high stress situation, I know I can handle the 9mm...I don't know that I could handle the .45...

I have no trouble with it in a range situation...but when there is trouble, I would rather have well placed rds. w/ 9mm than not hit poop w/ .45....ch

who knows what is going to be better tomorrow, with ballistics changing from day to day  from high velocity to rounds that fragment on impact it is so much out there confidence is a major killer when in your corner  i prefer the hard hitting .45 with some JHP

Bratty; There is nothing wrong with a 9mm. Carry what you like. If your comfy with the nine, use it, just stuff it with good ammo for defense.
Ask Derek.

1911 .45's. There really is nothing to debate. No nasty transition from DA to SA either or heavy DA only pulls.

I saw pics of a guy who was shot 34 times with a 9mm. He eventually died but was able to return fire until that point. He was shot with FMJ's which is certainly not the most efficient 9mm round.

The better loads in either caliber will work. I don't like to take sides, but I am sick of all this 9mm bashing. I would prefer have my SIG P226 with 16 Federal +P+ hollowpoints in a gunfight than my HK USP .45 with 9 185gr. +P hollowpoints in it. Those who think modern 9mm high velocity hollowpoints are "wimpy" are pretty pathetic. Sorry, it's called technology, and we have learned to manufacture 9mm rounds that are ALMOST as good as anything in .45acp. Ed Sanow has proved this over and over again. What you will most likely find me carrying is a P229 with 13 rounds of .357 SIG or .40 S&W. There's that damn advanced in technology again! Reality is a bitch...

*whew! Felt good to get that out...*

1911 in .45ACP.....The only way to fly.

A well placed .45 acp 230 grains round nose or a Hornady XTP 230 grains hp. will do as much work as a full magazine of any 9mm ammo. I has to be a 1911 canon.

9mm is the way to go. Cheaper, lighter and smaller ammo. Can pack enough of a punch to get the job done.

Maybe you should just start your own site for those of us who enjoy our guns with a little more "style".

I would like to own a 1911 in the original .45 ACP. I really like it.
But for selfdefence I am using Walther P99 and Browning HP36 both in 9 mm. With hi-cap magazines I can have enough firepower to defend my house... reloading is cheaper and 9 mm. require less training to achieve good results...

Suckered me into another caliber war huh?

Well Bratty, Whichever one you're comfortable with is the answer.  The rest are just a bad hesitation waiting to happen.

Congrats on becoming a member.  I'll be one soon enough with all these meaningless posts I'm doing.  Anyway, good night roomies!  You are all an inspiration in one aspect or another!

Groovy.... is just another word for ... a good day at the range.
