I have money for one right now, and I will buy the other as funds dictate. Im leaning towards the bullets because they seem to be harder to find, and the price keeps going up.

Any reason I should get the powder now, and wait on the bullets?

You can't throw bullets if you run out of powder, but you can still burn a sonofagun something mean with the powder if you have no bullets.

Perhaps that's a little too pragmatic though.

I would buy 2500 bullets and 12lbs of powder, unless you're getting a better deal the other way.

How about primers? Can't do anything without primers.

You can't cast powder outta wheelweights.

If it has to be one or the other, I would buy the bullets.

This. Lead has been falling, but copper is on the rise if I recall correctly. I would definitely buy bullets first if given the choice. But hey, just buy what you can when it's in stock.
