I picked it up a couple of months ago at WalMart. I think it was in the $8.88 bin.

Pretty good movie. And King Leonidas even says "Molon Labia Labe" oh damn, brain fart. Anyway, you get to here it pronounced in Greek.

OK gotcha.  Buy a shitty B movie because the event is the basis of a slogan.

Im up to speed now

I have enough slogans from American heros to use fortunately.

Dang!  You are just an overflowing well of optimism  aint ya!

Sorry it bothered you.  I DID find it hard to believe you wouldn't know what the movie was about (by the title.)

There's a book called "Gates of Fire" about the battle of Thermapoli (sp)???

Awesome book.  Absolutely 100% recommendable if you are interested in the least about this battle.

I read the book last year. Good story, even if it's fiction.

I agree Aimless. I'll bet most of the background info is well researched. It gives a snapshot of Spartan culture.

Decisive battles on History Channel had a animated battle of Thermopalye which was really good.
