.9bar is a mathematical term - .9999999999999 ad infinitum.   Technically, it is equal to 1 - but some people don't like to believe that, so there was a huge nerd-fight about it a while back.  The victorious nerds occasionally like to post "+.9bar" instead of "+1" to illustrate their nerddom.

The 87 thing is a secret, and I can't tell you.     Ask markm

We had a huge math argument..and it was determined and proved that .9bar,  meaning .999999999999999999 out to infinity, is in fact = to 1

87 is a number MarkM says all the time.  It just caught on.

Its the answer to stupid questions that dont really have a correct answer.

Like

How much ammo do I need?

87,000 rounds

or

How much wood can a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

87 logs

stuff like that.

Haven't seen a Tras post in a while

Yea. Its a a nerd victory cry as DK-Prof posted.

I personally find it too troublesome to do the .9bar.

It's much easier and less effort is used with a simple +1
