Amendment 28:
Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and Representatives, and Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States. "When the people fear their government there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty." Thomas Jefferson "...Let it roll..." |
|
Quoted: I'd be fine with that, but change "senators and representatives" to "any person employed by or acting for the government". And, make it retroactive so it repeals any laws that create incongruity.Amendment 28: Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and Representatives, and Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States. "When the people fear their government there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty." Thomas Jefferson "...Let it roll..." Not only would they have to have the same health care, etc., but we would get tax free unregulated machineguns. |

I think a 2 term limit would work better. There are term limits. It's called the ballot box. We get what we deserve when we vote these fuckers in. We should never have gone to the direct election of senators. I agree with this. I would also support an amendment to allow state legislatures to pick US senators again. And while were wishing here, I would also support an amendment removing the federal governments powers to tax us at all. |

And while the ballot box is great it is controlled by the congress. They get to draw lines for our voting districts. They use this to their favor (which ever party is in power). They draw the lines to assure continued victory. Our votes count, but truthfully we should have smaller districts and more representatives in the house. As our population grows so should our representation. |

I'd rather have a balanced budget amendment. _MaH How about just a law that says any balance outstanding in the federal budget is initially made up by confiscating the salaries of all the Senators and Representatives. If that is not enough, then conficate their personal property to sell at public auction. |

I think a 2 term limit would work better. That would be the best way to help but we all know that WILL NEVER HAPPEN. These bastards out in Washington feel they are the elite ruling class and we would be lost without them. I would like them all to come out for a range day, we always need people to hold targets...... |

| I'd like it to include a repeal of the 17th amendment also. The Senators are supposed to be elected by your statehouse to represent the state, to ensure the federal gov't doesn't usurp state rights. Plus, your state reps that send a senator to D.C. are easier to hold accountable if they screw it up. |

Plus, your state reps that send a senator to D.C. are easier to hold accountable if they screw it up. You would need to amend the constitution to do it. I would like to include language in there to make it so that state legislators elect our senators, but that the state governors cal recall them at any time. This would make governorships much stronger and give states a much larger voice in the federal government. |

How about All laws must be written in plain easily comprehended English The right to refuse service for individuals and businesses A repeal of the income tax and outlawing of property taxes. 2 term limits on all elected officials We seem to have trouble with laws written in plain old easily comprehended English and laws written in lawyer speak. Just because you have a law written in understandable English doesn't mean everyone will agree with it or abide by it. Look at the second amendment, it's plain and easy to understand, yet we keep having to take it to court. As long as the federal government has dominion over our everyday lives we will have trouble with their laws no matter how they are written. The right to refuse service to individuals and business. Are you talking about the government refusing to pay welfare here? I agree with that. We should not make it easy to be a freeloader. I agree with repealing the income tax. Repealing property taxes is a state issue. Again, as long as they get to draw the boundaries of our voting districts, term limits don't matter. They will make it so democrats or republicans always get elected. It will be a new name, but the same old bullshit. |

I can appreciate a desire for smaller government and less spending but if you take away income tax you effectively neuter the .fed and if you abolish property tax you crush municipal governments and school districts at the same time. How would you fund these things? 4 - bad idea |

1) outlawing of gerrymandering (roman style grid districts with a move to close the rep to citizen ratio to 1:30000) 2) fair tax 3) repeal of 17th amendment 4) 2 term limit for every elected leader of the federal govt 5) removal of all Unconstitutional agencies and depts and leaving them to the states 6) the Dave_A limitation amendment (lol just fucking wth you dave) 7) adding USAF and USMC to the mandatory military upkeep 8) a 14th amendment clarification 9) outlawing by amendment any prejudicial law (aka affirmative action and "hate crime" laws) 10) cutting of welfare "those in poverty must be made to be uncomfortable wth that poverty" 11) privatization and opt out policies added to SS, Medicare, and Medicade 12) shut down of all nonessential fed govt until the budget is balanced 13) change budget procurement methods to "you save it, you keep it". money saved from year to year would be rolled over. 14) force military to fix its procurment processes. if they wnt new toys, they ether fix the system or they dont get the money theyll waste. 15) permanent national guard stations on the border and a raise in man power to at least 1 per mile of actual guards. logistics will not figure into this. the USAF will be the eyes from the sky. |

If the US can't fund it's operations, the country falls... I want the states to tax us, then let the states pay the federal government. All the money that the fed collect comes from us. I just want to change how it is collected. The federal government would still get money for it's military, etc. It just wouldn't have the power to use our federal funds against us anymore. As far as removing the commerce clause goes, I would be in favor of that, or strictly defining what exactly interstate commerce is. Half of all the laws they pass use the interstate commerce clause as an excuse, and most run afoul of the constitution. If you remove the clause, then the laws previously passed based on it can be overturned, thus making people more free. |
