Reagan was shot......Where were you?.....I was in 6th grade....and I came home from school and my father and grandfather were gathered around the TV, visibly upset......I remember ......everyone was drinking , "to soothe the frayed nerves" I presume.....they were all saying how "they did it again"....an obvious reference to JFK.....so where were you folks?.......I think this was a defining moment in Reagan's young presidency......

sorry if this is a duper.....I only check back 5 pages....

I'm 26. What else would I have been doing 25 years ago?

I was working, and it hit me like a ton of bricks.

He's the greatest President we've ever had.

NO ONE is even close.

I was 11 years old.  I had been sent to the principal's office.  I over heard the bulletin on the secretary's radio.  The whole office freaked out.  The principal sent me back to class where I told the teacher what happened.  He called the office and confirmed my story.  He then stopped class and talked to us about how serious this was.  In my next class the made an announcement over the speakers.

Becuase you were not old enough to hear all the conspiracy theories.

Some claim at the time the wedge like bullet found in his lung was fired from a CIA gun, "they" wanted him to shut up about the evil empire the soviet union.

RR was a tough talker when it came to  commies.

I was probably playing D&D or riding my dirt bike. I remember it happening, I thought it was cool that he walked after getting shot in the lung. I respected him ever since. I was proud to have a leader like that.

I was in the 6th grade. Watched it all afternoon on TV. Still remember the headline of my local paper that day. "Reagan shot in chest-condition stable".

I was a senior in high school.  I remember being fairly anxious at the time.

My folks live about 2 miles from the library and I've never yet made the visit...

I was 19 years old and I will never forget that day.

My mom had back surgery and was confined to her bed for three weeks.  I was going to Jr. College, but I had no classes that day.

Our TV was not workning correctly so we had called a repairman.

Since my mom was laid up, I was the one that let the repairman in the house.  I sat on the livingroom couch while the repairman worked inside the back of the TV.

There was a picture on the TV screen and the repairman was making an adjustment while using a mirror to look at the screen.

Suddenly the breaking news was aired.

My mom hobbled from her room to sit on the couch with the TV repairman and I.  It was very emotional for all of us.

If you ever have the chance to visit the Ronald Reagan Library, please do so..you willnot reget going there.
