SO, I picked these guys up a couple of days ago on 30th, 1/18 scale 4dr Bronco's
Attached File Red is mine and Blue is the wifes These are a blast to drive, especially after spending 20+ years wheeling, it is fun picking lines etc Here is a video from 1st night, playing on island Bronco test11 and another testing climb angle, these were very slick boards Bronco test 21 Now its been raining/snowing so we needed a place to play indoors, So I picked up some foam, expanding foam and some plaster sheeting to start on a trail course Attached File More work, the steeper mnt. was foam over crinkled paper hot glued to box face. Attached File mores Attached File Attached File Need to do a 2nd coat in a few places, have to order some more plaster, I didn't know how far it would go |

Plan is to have 6 pcs in total to cover the island and to be easier to store in a closet.
The two pieces for the ends of island will be two 24x48 inch pcs for a 48x48 course with a 24x36 run between the two ends and a bridge or two over the sink area Attached File Attached File |

Homemade hills are very cool!
I remember when I was doing RC planes that a digital proportional controller was a good thng to have. It looks to me like the controller for the Broncos has a pretty abrupt on/off throttle control. It'd be nice to be able to moderate the forward motion a little better. |

View Quote Thanks and you are correct!! SO after reading the instructions I found out that, it has 3 modes and that was the stock sport mode 100% response and no brake drag, the next is Trail mode it is reduce % response for finger travel and has drag brake in neutral, the 3rd is Crawl mode which is 100% drag for hill climbing. Also I have lower gearing coming, to lower it more. SO the sport mode you have to control the gas and brakes, throttle is back and brakes forward, thru neutral, so it definitely is twitchy trying to figure it out, in crawl mode totally different animal |

Hopefully later today I can start building my Tamiya racing fighter (dt03 chassis). Going to use an old mrc 75mhz am radio with it. Last model rc I had was a tamiya falcon.

Planning on getting a 4wd slash truck this year, too. Traxxas is a pretty cool company, learned a little about them at a local hobby shop.

Quick update on truck mods that were planned
I printed the shock relocation, after mocking it up last night, I did not do the mod. It put the shock so layed down, they were bottomed out at rest, so NO up travel was left, plenty down BUT no up, so even ground pressure wouldn't really be usable. I may put longer shocks on and print taller rear mounts to go up into cabin |

I added a couple "fins" to an area
Attached File Also 3D printed some scale firewood, I am detailing it here Attached File I think flat matte with some super fine grit will work, I can pill the wood up around the course, so you or your spotter can put a pc here and there Attached File And printed up side racks for the trailer, turned out awesome, perfect fit into stock pockets Attached File |

So scale wise we basically went from a stock 16 x 39.50 inch tire to a 44 inch tall tire; a little bit more narrow even though the math doesn't work on the 24 mm dimension
