I have a '78 440 & 727 Torqueflite tranny that I want to sell but I don't know what it's worth. Before I put an ad in the paper, I thought I'd ask you guys what a fair price to ask might be. I've had it for about 20 yrs. Had plans to build it but never will, my interests have changed. Now, it's taking up space in the garage.

Block is stamped 8 T 440 E H P
                            3  28

Head casting # 4006452

It's a high perf police motor. In fact, I took it out of a Florida State Patrol car that was sold at auction, a Grand Monaco, I think.

Any ideas what I should ask for it ?

TIA,
Bill

Its has a cast crank, heads are not that desirable, 915 or 906 are the best. I would think 500.00 is not to much to ask, but I wouldn't pay more than 200.00

good luck with your sale
