Near as I can tell Trijicon makes only fixed Colt(tenon) type sights for 1911.For dovetail or adjustable check out Wilson Combat,my pal's have served him well.They also offer express installation.

Bo-Mar makes a nice set, Adjustable. The front sight is a dot and the rear has a small bar just under the cut.

I have Trijicons on my Springfield 1911-A1. That's what my gunsmith recommended because they're brighter and more shock resistant than others. (FWIW, he could have made a few more $$$ on the Wilson Nite-Eyes so it wasn't just a sales pitch.)
Brownell's sells them under the Nowlin Custom name. The slide needs to have a dovetail machined if it's not already there. By all means, have a gunsmith install them. If you attempt to do it yourself and you break something it's your loss. If you were in SoCal I could recommend several top-notch pistolsmiths. |

Kimber imports the Meprolight brand. I personally have the Heinie tritium front sight, and a Novak tritium rear.
