Economy is downstream of culture and politics are downstream of the economy. The laws form to protect whatever economy the culture wants. If you will, step outside of Hayek and the Austrian School for a moment. Visualize a battery. Batteries store electricity, right? Why do batteries discharge and why is it hard to store electricity? Entropy causes all things to seek equalization. In the case of money, or currency, it also naturally wants to flow from high to low concentration. Lawsuits, divorces, planes, boats and cars and everything lower priced are all pathways for currency to flow to lower concentration. What a culture decides is money/currency is 100% arbitrary and meaningless outside of its scarcity. This is why so many in the precious metal camp have been embarrassed by three letters: BTC. BTC is more scarce, offers more security than precious through an open ledger and offers better liquidity due to its ease of transmission and fractionalization. Back to the battery. The battery’s natural state is one of potential energy waiting for any opportunity to discharge. Wealth is an abstract and variable quantity, but what we should be able to agree on is it represents a quantity of money that is more than the person needs to live for a certain quantity of time. Wealth itself is a monetary battery and history has demonstrated that entropy does not discriminate or deviate and that wealth is transient. We have a culture war that supersedes every other plane of conflict. Culture is purely a social phenomenon and the basic unit of a society is the mating ritual. Hence, all culture is derivative or downstream of sexual relations. This is why the progressives have waged war on heterosexual relations and the nuclear family. The progressives (communists) seek to atomize society to acquire the latent power it harnesses. |
