My 23 year old niece is newly married and is in the prime of her life. She and her husband are going through a terrible time, having just discovered that he has a rare cancer, Ewings Sarcoma. He has an orange sized tumor on his hip and just today started one of two very aggressive forms of chemotherapy. On a positive note, the cancer has not spread to his lungs as his doctors feared. His PET scan came back clear, aside from the tumor they already discovered! They are staying with my wife and I during treatment at UC Health as they live 8 hours away, out of state, and will be back and forth at least every two weeks. She has a limited amount of time off to use and he is no longer working. To make matters even more unfortunate for them, he is just shy of qualifying for his company's long and short term disability programs and they make just a little bit over the limits to qualify for Social Security benefits.
She has suffered the loss of several family members starting at a very young age, to include losing her mother to cancer in her early teens. Our hearts are broken for these two, but we know that with prayer anything is possible. We have created a Go Fund Me page and are waiting on approval from Striker (have emailed twice, so if anyone knows him and can get this to him that would be greatly appreciated). Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers for their safe travels and his full recovery.
