Personally never understood the appendix carry method. 3-4 o’clock for me, but if you want to carry that way, certainly not knocking it, but just not comfortable for me and can’t get over where the gun is pointing. I do speculate though, appendix carry is a Russian/Chinese intelligence campaign through social media and gun boards to get more and more Americans to shoot’s themselves in the testicles so they can’t procreate (like millennials and their tide pods).

Dude remained remarkably calm for someone that just earned the nickname uniball. Claim is that it was a dept issued weapon that went off in the holster when he adjusted it so he could sit down. Obvious claim will be “Something got into the holster and into the trigger guard, then pulled the trigger!” More likely that Sig will settle out of court. Might involve a lawsuit against the department after the recent upheaval over the 320’s going off without a trigger press, too. Maybe even the holster company. What’s a testicle worth, $80K? The thumb safety will not stop the striker from hitting the primer if the striker block fails. The safety lowers the trigger away from the sear nothing more. @dSmith45 |

I do love my 320s. It's like they modelled my hand specifically when designing the X grip. But they can just stay in the safe and be range toys until this gets sorted out, in 5 or 10 years. Or however long it takes SIG to bend the knee. There's plenty of other iron I can lug around. |

And people here mock me for pointing out that this is an obvious hazard inherent with appendix carry, the severity of which is impossible to mitigate. Not that it should never be done, but that it’s something to consider. Apparently observing this obvious reality makes me a 39 year old boomer Fudd. |

Only when it is empty and I'm practicing draws and re-holstering do I remove it. How do you clear the gun while it's holstered? |

the only good i can see coming from this is that hes a cop and likely still alive and will be fighting like hell once hes able. hes not going to walk this one off and neither is sig. its too televised and epic for an out of courtroom settlement. whoever you are mr cop you need to fight like hell. too many others have already been shot unintentionally and its time to make carrying safe again. |
