Terrorist infiltrator killed after stabbing Beit El resident
By MARGOT DUDKEVITCH
An 18-year-old terrorist infiltrated Beit El, north of Ramallah, around 11 Friday night and stabbed a resident before being shot and killed.
The terrorist, who came from the direction of the nearby village Dura al-Kara, cut through the community's fence and knocked on the door of one of the homes, whose residents alerted the community's security chief, Yehuda Dano.
Dano arrived and struggled with the intruder, who stabbed him before Dano shot and killed him. Dano, 33, was taken to Hadassah-University Hospital in Jerusalem's Ein Kerem. He underwent surgery yesterday and is in good condition.
While residents remained inside their homes, security forces made sure there were no additional terrorists inside the community.
In a previous infiltration incident, soldiers killed an armed terrorist who tried to infiltrate Dugit in the northern Gaza Strip late Thursday night. Soldiers exchanged shots with the terrorist when they saw him approaching the community's fence. The terrorist also threw grenades at the soldiers.
Soldiers found a Kalashnikov rifle and a flak jacket near the terrorist's body. According to Palestinian reports, he was a member of Force 17 Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat's presidential guard and was affiliated with the Aksa Martyrs Brigade.
