He should have just replied with the description of “fair” as it clearly wasn’t read. FAIR- some major parts replaced; minor replacement parts may be required; metal rusted, may be lightly pitted all over, vigorously cleaned or reblued; rounded edges of metal and wood; principal lettering, numerals and design on metal partly obliterated; wood scratched, bruised, cracked or repaired where broken; in fair working order or can be easily repaired and placed in working order. The condition is disclosed on all of their used firearms. |

Your level of CS should have nothing to do with the status of the customer for individual transactions like this. Especially when the customer hasn't done anything wrong beyond trying to get a functional gun. ![]() Customer didn’t buy from Atlantic. Customer bought from dealer that bought from Atlantic. That wasn't posted when I responded, if that is in fact true does change things a bit. Duffy should be going to his dealer for satisfaction unless he had it ordered for him, not sure why he'd go that route. |

That sounds horrible. I had a terrible similar experience with Noveske, including a personal phone call they initiated to accuse me of damaging a new gun I wanted to return because I got it in such a poor state. Some gun companies don't want to be bothered with problems. |

Quoted: I don't get it. Someone bought a gun described as surplus, may need minor parts replaced and is crying about a minor part needing replaced? Am I missing something? that it was not bought directly from Atlantic by the purchaser that is crying about the part. And he's posted it all over the internet crying about it. |

Quoted: I've bout a couple of new guns with no problem. What does irritate mean is that they won't send me the 30rd magazines that I know come with the gun, but don't take that amount off of the overall price. Atlantic has been generally great to deal with IME. I too wish they handled magazines and Kolorado differently *BUT* they fully and prominently disclose their policy so I factor that into my purchase decisions. |

Years ago I ordered an AK from them that was going to be a gift for my brother (not a prohibited person and had a CCW permit). He had a hang up at the FFL because because it was my name on the shipping address; that part was honestly probably my screw up because I wasn't a 100% familiar on the purchasing as a gift for someone. Anyway, I got a really nasty email from Atlantic right after that saying that I was "sending multiple different people to the FFL impersonating me, and trying to get around Federal laws to get the firearm". That obviously wasn't true, as my brother only made the one attempt to go pick it up and left when the name issue came up. I called the FFL and they simply said it wasn't a big deal and happened pretty often. They said I could either call Atlantic and have them just send them a confirmation that the package was for my brother, or they could just have it sent back to Atlantic and resent again with my brother's name on the shipping address. Before I could do anything I got an even nastier email from Atlantic saying that I was now trying to refuse to pay for return shipping... I assume that the FFL called or emailed them asking if there was a prepaid shipping label, or if I was paying out of pocket for it - and they somehow twisted that into me "demanding that they pay the return shipping". They threatened that they would take the rifle back and not issue a refund. That was the last time I ever bought from them, which at the time sucked because my previous purchases through them went really well. |

It seems said customer did not inspect the gun before making the purchase. Or it as really just a transfer (not purchase), in which case said customer could still inspect the gun and decide. |

Quoted: Someone I know purchased a used CZ pistol from Atlantic and it showed up with a slide release that doesn’t even fit the pistol and is for another model. He contacted them and after going back and forth with someone named Shawn at Atlantic , was told “the pistol was sold in NRA surplus condition “ (no clue what that even means) and they aren’t going to do anything to rectify the issue. He then posted in their industry group here to let others know how they handle CS issues and the thread went unanswered. It is a disgrace for a company to treat customers this way but when you try and hide it by deleting the thread, it makes it worse and shows their character. There are many great company’s out there and those are the ones we as consumers should spend are money with and not the ones that do things like this! There is a new thing called Google. It gives you the answer in about 2 seconds: https://www.nramuseum.org/gun-info-research/evaluating-firearms-condition.aspx |

Quoted: This is about warning others of this behavior, you think it’s the cost of the part that disturbs me, you know as little about what we do as you know my reasons for exposing them. Not that we need to explain the cost of US sourced and made products to folks that don't know manufacturing, wholesale and retail, you have no idea what our margin is, and i don't care to change your mind. For those that care for such things, we spend 3x the cost on simple things as US made screws when foreign screws might do the job, imagine what we spend on everything else. We are an R&D shop that contracts shops in TX, ID, CA and OR to have our designs made, never made a secret of it. I didn’t ask him to post it, you again project, that’s what you would do. They refused to take a return. Thanks for reminding me never to purchase anything from Forward Control Designs. |

That says missing or replacement parts. |

Why? Are they deleting feedback/issues? Also- reading is fundamental. FFL who received it from ATL got the same treatment. I sent it to my FFL who asked them to send the correct slide release. And just as I suspected, he got the same unhelpful, canned answer from this guy, no offer to send the right part. |

They have sent me replacement guns before receiving the returned gun, and when I was a much younger man, the owner personally helped me pick out my first Arsenal AK while on a tight budget. Edit: I type like shit without my first cup of coffee. |
| I've purchased several items from them in the last two years and had very prompt shipping and emails. No issues. I purchased a Saiga AK from them that was manufactured by Arsenal that was horribly fucked up. They took it back and sent me another one. I think I had to pay for shipping for one of them. No big deal. I have no complaints on them. Stop buying used shit if you don't want to get used shit. |

I bet Atlantic Firearms doesnt have a replacement part to give the buyer. If they did, I'm sure they would just send it and avoid this drama. I mean, you're buying a surplus gun...I don't know the exact definition of NRA surplus, but I know enough that there's a good chance it wont be perfect. I had to take a quick peak at Forward Control Designs since it was mentioned...I didnt notice anything that stood out to me as overpriced. Their stuff looks good from my cursory glance. Atlantic Firearms should have just told buyer that they dont have extra parts. Buyer should have chalked it up to a lesson learned not to buy surplus guns. Dragging it to GD was probably not the best move, buyer is going to get piled on. |

Quoted: They will also get to enjoy a hacked credit card in 2-4 weeks. Thanks for the heads up, I have had this happen before at other sites and its a PITA. (They were trying to spend 500 at Caesars Palace) Luckily my bank txt me and I happened to check and be able to shut that down. I have an idea who did it because I dont use that card often, but can't say for sure so I wont. (But will tell you it was a business with a post office address in Nevada, and all I ordered was an unmarked fsb, which never came) |

Didn’t have an issue with something I bought but I used a credit card card that hadn’t been used in 8 months to buy the part and a week and a half later that card was compromised. I’ve read multiple places that this is a common occurrence with them and I refuse to buy anything else with them. |

It's a surplus pistol, listed as maybe needing minor parts, and Atlantic doesn't have the part to send. What do you want them to do? Drop ship a new part from someone else to fix an issue that's not their problem? |

The “fair condition” applies here, and it seems like Atlantic does NOT have a replacement part. FCD didn’t do their due diligence, and got dimpled for it. |
