**UPDATE** My order arrived today, late but arrived. (FedEx took 4 days to go from AZ to CA for some reason.....). Laptop looks like new. Boots up fast with the SSD. Windows is doing its thing updating now. Dell Refurbished St Patrick's Day Sale 48% off any item Dell Refurbished Site CODE: LUCKY48DEAL I grabbed one for my four year old son for 250 out the door shipped/tax. ABCMouse and other little learning stuff he is also doing in school. Specs: Dell Latitude 5480 Notebook, Gray (Skin Applied), 14-in HD (1366 x 768), No Webcam, 1x Intel Core i5 (i5-6200U) 2.30 GHz, 8 GB RAM, 250 GB HDD, No Optical, Intel Integrated Graphics, Non-Backlit Keyboard, Windows 10 Professional |

I guess it's an alright deal for that laptop, but it's still a 4-generation old processor with nothing special for specs. You can find 8 and 9 generation processor models on clearance at Walmart for $100, and they're not refurbished.
My suggestion if you want a cheap laptop is to buy a used one from Craigslist/FB groups/or one of the local selling apps. I see them all the time cheap. I recently picked up a Dell server tower, xeon processor, 32g ram for $100, using it as my media server. Wipe them clean and re-install the OS. |
|
They want $1100 for the 17", Acer has a full blown gaming laptop for that, and it's new.
|
|
Wow. Is it even worth buying something with windows 7 for under $100 ?
|
|
Picked up the Dell Latitude 5480 for $262 shipped. I don't even know what I will do with it. But at that price who cares.

I have been putting off buying a new PC for too long. I ordered a laptop. $329 with tax & 1yr warranty. That didn't even singe they edges of the credit card.
It's time to retire my 2002 home built desktop running WinXP. |

Tech question....Can I swap my SSD from my Dell Inspiron 15 to one of these Latitudes, and it'll work as before?
My current dell works fine, but my screen is showing its age. |

looking to build a plex server and a quick scan of the site shows nothing with i7.

I have pretty good luck with the latitude line for my work laptops. Used this coupon op listed to pick up a spare latitude 7520 refurb for 665 plus tax. It may be a little large at 15" but will use it on weekends for work/off duty stuff. I almost always use dell for my small business small form factor desktops.
I'm sure you can beat this deal but how much time would be required and I can return if glitchy and get money back within 30days. |

Get a Macbook and be done with it. Even a several year old MacBook.

Is it just me or did the prices on the refurbs go up? I was just looking at them a month ago and seeing a good one for ~$300 OTD.

It's significantly lower performing than the GTX 1060M I got in mine back in 2018. I'd call it a light gaming laptop, even after discount it's not wonderful. For a couple hundred more you can get a gaming laptop with a 50% more powerful GPU, and a more modern processor. Is that a big deal? I would say yes given the GFX card and CPU is difficult if not impossible to upgrade on most laptops. The $300 you "save" over real gaming laptops is going to be paltry considering how outdated that Quadro is with modern games. |

The activation on Windows will usually be the hang up, as windows activates most of the time to the hardware on the computer (Unless you linked it to a Microsoft account). This part MAY cause an issue swapping over. Screen are very easy to replace if the current laptop is working fine. Usually fairly cheap too. |

Nice, picked up an A grade 7280 with Intel i7. Been meaning to replace my current POS.

I could use a new desktop. Current one if running Win 7. I think I bought it back in 2010?

I was issued Dell latitudes by a few of my past employers/clients. I wouldn’t pay money for one.

They only carry a 100 day warranty and if you find out you want to return after buying and not using they charge a 15 % restocking fee. These machines are just used lease turn ins with a vinyl wrap put on the top to hide scratches. OP should drill down and do a full review listing what you getting shorted on before posting up an 'Alert'. But I f up not looking deeper before doing the buy button. Thought it was the same as dell outlet where you get full mfgr. warranty etcc.. reseller ratings |

I’m digging the 2 in 1 that I have for work, but do I really want to spend $400 after discount for a different one to replace my 2008 MacBook?

I almost said "fuck!" because I bought an XPS 15 (9500) a week ago, brand new. I checked the outlet and didn't see anything good at the time. A few days before there was a 17% discount on just about everything, even brand new. Then the discount started disappearing... so I went ahead and ordered the XPS 15 I wanted.
I've still got the XPS 13 (9380) that I bought from the Outlet in September 2019. I've got it listed on Craigslist to see if I can sell it locally. It's been a great little machine, but I wanted a bit more horsepower, memory and potential disk space. Quoted: Do they clean the jizz off first View Quote LOL you don't even realize. One of my coworkers had worked at Dell doing Client support (basically support for every jackass that buys a computer). He got a call from some teenage kid because the kid had grabbed his dad's brand new Dell laptop to surf some porn and have a wank... and he jizzed all over the screen... and wanted to know how to clean it off... He had tried to clean the screen with something and it fucked up the coating. I worked at Dell, too. The Outlet sells 'refurbs', but most of them are just returned or canceled after their manufactured. They're not all things that were broken or failed and then fixed. I've had three laptops and two monitors from the Outlet over the last couple decades and they were all fine. |
