Funny, how so many people on this board trump that they are 'dyed in the wool' RKBA advocates but then post in threads about how basically they support socialistic ideas like 'universal health care' and 'amensty' for illegals and the communist groups that promote these ideals.

You see, there is no 'right' to health care. And there is no 'right' to an education. There is also no 'right' to take part of MY paycheck for other people. Without mentioning names, some of the so-called 'big posters' and 'respected members' are posting in threads about how we should be providing better health care. In another thread about how we 'depend' on illegal immigrant workers for our economy.

That is Socialism BS. You have no 'right' to health care. If you can't afford it, then sorry about your luck....you die. Your kid can't read....sorry about your luck....he doesn't get ahead in life. You are then chastised by "THE ELITE" about how uncompassionate you are. Where in the bible does Christ speak highly of the lazy? Doesn't the book of proverbs chastise the sluggard or the lazy?....."Like a dog returning to his vomit, a fool returns to his folly"......

Work is what will get you things you desire. Don't expect it to be given to you. And that which is yours by right, don't expect it not to be tried and taken away from you!

Live this type of life and then be thankful for those things which we receive out of compassion from others when we need it.......but don't come to expect it. Because then it goes from charity to social entitlements.

Excuse the incoherant rant... pain meds are kicking in and I'm a little woozy.

thank you. You are exactly right in that even those who don't make a lot of money but still work hard could afford a lot more if the government would keep their hands out of everybody's wallets. If those who will not do for themselves were forced to either work or starve, a lot more people would be able to afford the things the government supplies anyways. By taking away more money they slowly cause more and more to be pulled down into worthlessness.

Well said, except I don't think there is such thing as a socialist. That's a sugar coated communist and I fucking hate communists.

Sometimes I have to reign in my 'compassion' because it is not thinking, it is 'feeling.'

Did I say I hate communists?

People come from all over the world to the USA to get medical care they can't get from their own country's socialized health care.

Why would you want health care from the same people that bring you the DMV, IRS, and TSA?

I'm not "pro gay marriage."

I'm "the government has no business sticking its nose into marriage at all."

I don't see the problem. If insurance companies want to only cover one spouse, put it in the contract. What's the problem?
Link Posted: 6/15/2007 8:26:04 PM EDT
Of course if you really want to rant, there is enough Gun Advocates on this board who are not 2a advocates.

Great post, I agree wholeheartedly.

Hope you recover from whatever you're taking the meds for!

Point I was lamely trying to make was...one issue has nothing to do with the other.

I like your thinking!

Sorry to detract from what you were saying then. :(

FWIW, Socialism and gun control have a LOT more in common that gay marriage and gun rights.

Socialism allows for private ownership of property while Communism does not.

Within the last month, China quietly moved from Communism to Socialism and no one noticed.

This isn't good either. Most of those that are uninsured do it so that they can still make payments on the car they cannot afford. Just because some don't think that we should guess at which point life starts, doesn't mean we want to pay to support those children. But also, if we would cut all of the extra crap out, people who are trying could actually do it.

Do you know anybody who has been denied health care ??? NO ONE . You have to pay for insurance , get a job .
Link Posted: 6/16/2007 4:38:59 AM EDT
I have been getting funny looks for years because of a lot of the same observations.

Disclaimer - I am employed in the healthcare field.

Frankly, what we provide to the community is a product, nothing more, nothing less.
I really wish the hospitals worked as more of a 'cash & carry' business.
I've never felt that any person should be entitled to helth care.
Sure it would be really nice if ailing individuals had access to healthcare...but its not a right. I dont neccesarily want to see a child not recieve emergency care simply because their parents are deadbeat who dont work and carry no insurance...but the next logical question is, if they cant pay themselves...who will? You? Me?

I cringe everytime I see some medicaid case come through the ER doors because I know that my organization is going to eat the entire cost on it. Our financial leader are in a constant state of pursuit....looking for funding from anywhere we can get it...because we are constantly picking up the people that show up for services who cant pay the bill.

Did you know that an ER is legally bound to provide emergency treatment to anyone that shows up? If a bum comes through the door, states they have no job, no insurance, and no intention to pay for anything....we still have to stablize them....at our own cost. Several thousand dollars EVERY DAY is thrown away like this. Where does that money come from.....my organizations savings.

Im a decent guy....I dont want people to suffer if it can be avoided, but you know what...I didnt bring these people into the world, cause their medical issues, or place in a position where they have no way to pay for their services....so any talk about socialized medicine brings me to the same place.....I didnt cause the problem but the government is going to force me to correct it against my will.

Right to work?
Right to an education?

Ridiculous.

There is no such thing as UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE. There is only TAXPAYER SUBSIDIZED HEALTHCARE.

Whenever I use that term, it puts the communists on the defensive.

Too many people think that medical insurance should cover everything that they could possibly see a doctor for. Minor routine procedures should be easily handled with a credit card or cash. Major trouble, that's what insurance is for.

Insurance companies are for profit BUSINESSES. People can't expect to pay a couple hundred a month and be entitled to unlimited medical care. Someone has to pay.

It's like expecting your car insurance company to pick up the tab for routine maintenance, repairs, etc. Oh, and pay for my gas while you're at it.

The only thing that keeps this from actually happening is that it would require the adoption of a completely revised pricing structure...for supplies, services, etc.

Would it work - yes.
Will it happen - probably never - too much greed fueling the current infrastructure to allow it to change.

Well, defacto we already are having socialist medice it just isn't out in the open!!

I am paying outrageous premiums for my health insurance so the hospital can charge me $50 dollars for a bandaid i could get a whole box of at Wal-Mart for $3.

Why because they mark up everything peoples insurance is paying for 1000% or so to pay for all the dead beats and non insured that come to the hospital!!!!

So they might as well socuialize it and least then its out in the open that everyone is paying for everyone else instead of this sneaky shit hospitals pull on the insured to cover the un insured thus raising our insurance rates astronomically.
