The fireworks were pretty awesome. |

Same place I am now, but active duty. Had a couple of airmen volunteer to go over there during the build up. Kept their bikes in my garage so they wouldn't get fucked up in the barracks parking lot.

Was working my second job, incoming phone customer service rep. Night was pretty steady until about 7, then the phones just stopped. A bit later one of the reps stood up and shouted "The bombing has started".
Went home later that night to celebrate my birthday. One of the most depressing birthdays of my life for a lot of reasons, not just the war. Yes, Desert Storm started on my birthday. Never quite forgave George for that. Good friend of mine (much younger) was on the USS Horne watching Tomahawks fly over head. |

A O3 in Riyahd helping to bed down troops and aircraft pouring in.

In bed with the chickenpox and worried that I was going to get kicked out of the police academy and rolled over to the next class.
