We think we have a plan to fix the irregular meeting of the cargo bay doors too. We were down there this afternoon, and I was giving my idea, when a student came up with something much simpler. Together, that idea morphed into something very doable. I'll be gone next week for State Art, so hopefully while I'm gone, they can make it work. We talked through how it should be done. I may go make a video lesson this weekend. 
Our paper didn't make it over to the school again this week for further interviews, so no article this week. I was hoping it would be in the paper before next week. |

Received patches today. 1 for me, 1 for FW_wife, 1 for the Sinister. Pics incoming.

Well, I tried to get TopMen to go in today to try to install a "pause program" switch, as we don't really want the doors running all summer, but he and his mother nixed the idea. The lift is still in the area, and it wouldn't take us that long to do it, but I guess it's not happening today.
We will install another basic limiter switch on the exterior of the shuttle where we can pause the program for summer. Today would have been a perfect day.....but no.

We are leaving for State Art in the morning so any new patch orders might be delayed a bit. We will be back to normal next Monday.
Today is ACT testing so I won't see students at all today. Crazy day and week. I also sent off an email to the WY Aeronautics agency with details and video of the finished display. |

Has links to the other Flat Spot threads. You can build it so it looks and works like a heavy billet upper, or you can weld a pipe on for a buffer tube like Raider's build, or anywhere in between. ETA: You're quite welcome, guns. It's the least I could do for someone who gives so much to his students. Besides, I want to see how one made by a noob turns out, so I know what equipment to buy and what to expect when I build one as my very 1st welding project.

Looks like this teacher of the Year process is fairly lengthy. 
Might hear something near October 2017 for Wyoming.......nationals isn't till May of 2018.

I took these yesterday. We made it to Casper today and have everything displayed. Some payments for the patches came in.
View of the packed trailer. It made the 4.5hr ride down here without problems. The looks on other schools faces when we start unpacking is always priceless.

Update 4/21
Wyoming State Art Symposium. We did very well.  Only 25% of the 4500 pieces get a ribbon. It is tough competition. We took 114 pieces and 56 received ribbons.
