I have a nearly new SW52 rifle made by Special Weapons. It is an exact copy of the HK52 which was prototyped, but never produced for sale. It is essentially an HK93, in an MP5-sized package, that takes AK47 mags and ammo. Special Weapons is the only company to openly produce this rifle, and only 200 were made.
This rifle was built using an HK93 reciever, an HK91 trigger pack/grip frame, and a custom barrel chambered in 7.62X39. It accepts all AK mags, but won't take drums because the AK drum towers are too short for the mag well. It has a paddle mag release, an A2 full stock, a lifetime warranty, and a fake can on the barrel. The can is pinned and can be removed if you want to SBR the rifle. The can also has a cut-out to vent the blast and heat to keep the can from heating up as quickly under rapid fire. This rifle takes all MP5 furniture!! You can now legally add a telescoping A3 stock, or a new Top Notch side folding UMP stock to it. You can also add different lowers if you wish. Mags are cheap and so is the ammo, so you can shoot all day for about the same cost as surplus 9MM ammo.
I don't know how to post pics but I have several for those who are interested. This rifle has only had 200 rounds through it and is in perfect condition. The only wear on it is the expected scratch in the paint from the selector lever.
Prior to the ban's end, there were usually two or three of these on the auction sites and they sold for $1250 plus shipping. As of right now, there is only one on any of the sites and it's currently at $1150. Mine is already local (NW Glendale area), comes with the original factory manual and box (simple cardboard) EIGHT 40 round AK mags, and THREE 30 round AK mags. All you need is ammo. Lots of it. Expect to see prices rise on these as the few in circulation dry up and those owned get turned into fun evil black rifles!
I'm looking to trade straight across for a pre-ban-configured M4 style AR15. No "post-bans", no cheap brands, etc. LEO markings are fine. I want the stepped barrel, etc. Prefer flat top models. Bushmaster preferred. All of the evil features...
This is a very durable, sturdy rifle. The furniture is secure, no creaks, and the action is tight. The cocking handle snaps down forward crisply and lays securely against the cocking tube with no flapping or looseness. This isn't your typical "build rifle" or clone. This is the only version of this gun that ever existed for ownership, and given Special Weapons' current contracts with H&K, this can be considered as solid a rifle as if HK built it themselves. I'm very impressed with this gun's quality. Also, you (AZ residents) have the advantage of having Special Weapons, Top Notch, and Bobcat Weapons here locally in the Valley, so any parts needs or service/warranty work can be handled quickly.
Please send any offers or inquiries to me directly at Razai@aol.com, and if you do have any ARs to offer, please send pics. I'll do the same.
EDIT: Rifle has been traded, thanks.
