2. Smith & Wesson M&P-15R upper, M4 single-shield handguards, 16" barrel, factory bolt SOLD!
With the price of good brass 5.56 being what it is these days and the surprisingly affordable nature of the surplus 5.45x39 on the market, Smith & Wesson brought their solution to bear. The M&P-15R was available as both a complete rifle and a separate upper assembly. This package started life as the separate upper assembly. Not only do you get the factory package of the upper, one magazine, and the heavy hammer spring (sometimes necessary for hard military primers), but you also get an extra 5 magazines. I also reindexed the flash suppressor with a peel washer to run it with a Gemtech HALO suppressor though I never got around to trying it suppressed.
S&W actually used the proper .221-ish barrel the 5.45 needs, and also has the correct 1:8 twist rate. Barrel is chrome-lined as well. If you don't want the super expensive alternatives but don't want the junk cheap ones, this is the upper for you. I also think this would be an ideal upper for a drop-in piston conversion like the Osprey.
This upper has around 120 rounds down the pipe, all of which were commercial ammo - nothing corrosive ever touched the upper; for proof, you can see the bolt head and part of the chamber in the last photo, and they have no rust on them. I found this upper likes to run somewhat well-lubed.
Asking $535 shipped
for the complete upper, hammer spring, and magazine package. I do not wish to part this out.
1. RRA 9mm A4 complete upper, CAR-length handguards, 16" barrel, factory bolt
RRA 9mm guns are patterned on the Colt 9mm system. For parts compatibility and quality, that's hard to beat, and I don't see Colt or RRA going away anytime soon so these type of 9mm ARs will be around for a while. The upper is a Rock River Arms factory upper (i.e. everything built by them) with an A4 flattop receiver, 16" barrel, and an A1-style 9mm flash suppressor. It came with a standard charging handle latch, but I replaced that with a Badger Tactical latch, which ironically enough, is now a factory option. Bolt is as it left the factory, it has not been ramped or otherwise tweaked. I'd estimate around 500-600 rounds are on the barrel.
Asking $410 shipped
for the complete upper. I do not wish to part the upper out at this time.
Because these uppers are no-ban, I cannot ship to those of you behind enemy lines in ban states. Additionally, these will ship somewhat heavily oiled, so you may wish to wipe them down before using them the first time.
For trades, we can discuss a Romanian AES-10B RPK or possibly one of the UR-series SLR-106/107 rifles from Arsenal. Obviously, with cash on my part unless you're really generous.
Otherwise, I have an engagement ring and a cruise to pay for, so not interested in other trades.
Shipping via USPS Priority is included in the prices! If you prefer another carrier or want Express, I can do that too, but it'll cost extra. Payment via Postal Money Orders only, please. First "I'll take it" by timestamp (through IM, email, or post) will get the item specified. Feel free to IM or email me any questions you might have! I also have the original high resolution versions of the photos available.
Thanks for looking!
