It must be nice to be a know-it-all. Also your WRONG! I really don't have to justify myself to you, but I'm going to anyway.
A: Yes I did have a SA mount on my M1A. I also broke that mount trying to modify it on my brother-in-laws milling machine. So I bought another one. The second one was NEVER mounted. I have pics to prove it. Let me know and I will send you close-up pics of the new mount.
B: YES I do think SA mounts are crap. But that's MY opinion. There are other people who LIKE the SA mount and that is their opinion. Also I never advertised the mount by saying "The BEST mount for your M1A" or "This mount is AWESOME!" I stated what it was, period. Also it took me 3 months to save for the Smith mount and ARMS rings. Some people can't afford a $190 mount and $100 rings, and would gladly buy a cheaper SA mount for what they need. These people know about the SA mount but don't need anything fancy for what they do. Also the SA mount and rings cost $120. I'm selling them for half that, so I'm obviously not trying to make money on this.
C: If I wanted to try and scam someone, I'd sell the mount on Ebay. I instead listed it on the EE, because the people hear are generally ALLOT more educated on firearms. So it really makes no sense for me to list it here if I was trying to scam someone. I also have accounts on Gunbroker.com and Ebay. BOTH of my ratings on those sites are excellent, no Neutral or Negative feedback, ALL positive!
I don't know you 308wood, and your probabley a nice guy. You thought I was trying to scam someone on this board and you jumped in thinking you were helping. I respect that. Why I get pissed because you could have simply sent me an email saying "Dude, I thought you had this mounted already" or "Why are you trying to sell a SA mount that you think is crap?" and I would have gladly replied stating what I said above. You instead jumped to conclusions, the wrong conclusions.
I hope this alleviates your concerns and that we can get over this with no hard feelings. I'm not perfect either and would understand if you jumped-the-gun on this whole thing. I have an email from someone who wants to buy the mount. I'm going to ask them to re-read this post before they buy it. This way we are all on the same page. Thanks.
