This is one that I never thought I would part with. I bought a new in the box Colt Government series 80, in 9x23 win, (the box identifies the model number as 01923E). This model is the full size, 5", all steel with the flat top slide.
Without firing a shot, I sent the gun to Dave Helton of DV Custom Guns in Washington. He completed the following modifications for me:
Install Heinie Straight 8 Night sights
Serrate rear of slide
Trigger job to 4.5 lbs, crisp, with the installation of a lightwieght solid Videki style trigger
Checker front strap, (I believe that it was at 25 lpi, but can't really recall)
Install Brown grip safety
Install Brown tactical single side thumb safety
Install Baer serrated steel MSH
Lower/Flair ejection port
Complete carry package, (tastefully rounded all edges)
Beveled magazine well
Installed match bushing on factory barrel
The gun was then sent to Chris Peters at Metaloy Industries, where it received a two tone finish. The slide was finished in blue, and the frame along with all small parts, (including all ignition parts), was finished in Metaloy, (hard chromed). I then finished it off with a really nice black pair of checkered wooden grips.
Since the completion of this gun, I have fired it a total of 150 flawless rounds, and it is in better than perfect condition. I really hate to part with it, but Uncle Sam is calling, and I have to part with it fairly quickly. You will get:
The gun, original blue plastic factory box and papers, the original one piece wrap around rubber factory grips, two unused factory mags, three Wilson mags, an unused set of Lyman reloading dies (9x23 win), and 5 boxes of Winchester 124gr JSP ammo.
Several detailed photos are available, and if you have a serious offer really close to my asking price, I just may give it some consideration, but right now I can't do any trades. Contact by e-mail is much better and faster; firstname.lastname@example.org
SOLD PENDING FUNDS Thanks again Eric!
