For sale is my Australian Automatic Arms SAP pistol in .223. When I bought this pistol (10.5" barrel) , like I do with every gun I buy...I opened it up to check it out. I think this gun was brand new when I bought it. It came with the factory original shipping box, original SAP 20 round mag (takes AR mags), manual and papers.
Now, I shot it to sight it in and did zero it for about 50 yards...so that's done for the next owner. However, when I brought it back home and opened it back up to clean it...I noticed that the leather buffer (that was attached to the steel section right where the rear of the bolt would hit it) had disintergrated. Actually, the buffer's rubber anchor disintergrated because of dry rot. It must have sat somewhere NIB for a LONG time...well, since the 80's. I still have the remaining leather portion of the buffer. I thought it necessary to make a new buffer, so I made another buffer out of some buffer material that I had and that seems to be buffering the bolt just fine.
Inside the lower, it appears to have an AR system of operation (parts-wise) with all AR parts except the hammer's shape. The upper seems to be the same kind of system as the Armalite AR18/AR180 bolt system...plus the upper has a gas piston rather than a gas tube into the upper. In fact, it opens up just like an AR18 does. A VERY reliable .223 pistol. It has an A2 flash suppressor on it and it is squared up, too. The cocking handle is on the left side of the forearm and is kinda like a H&K cocking system.
I took a pic of it, but for the life of me I cannot post a pic on this ad...so Email me to see a pic of it, NOT PM. My terms are $1000 in the form of a bank's cashier's check...or a USPS money order, plus an additional $50 shipping for UPS/insurance since it must go overnight as it is a handgun. Please, no trades or offers, thanks. Need the cash ONLY. I'll be selling off MORE Title 01 firearms here soon...since my HK53 machinegun has not sold yet on the NFA board on this site.
Anyway, please either Email me at ArmaliteGAxxxATxxxWindstream.net, just take out the 6 x's and change the "AT" to a @. I'll be happy to answer any questions and reply with a pic to anyone who asks for one. The first confirmed "I'll take it" buys it and that confirmation will supercede any other inquiries. (IF) I sell it FTF in upper NW GA, I would appreciate it if I could view the buyer's valid GA DL and valid GA Firearms License so I am posiitve that I am making a legal in-state handgun sale. I will happily display my GA DL and Carry Permit, too. Thanks for the cooperation on this.
...and thanks everyone for reading through.
