I need a bit of help. I have a project that I am in need of some Oxpho-Blue or other good Cold Bluing solution. I have some vintage Bear Razorhead broadheads that were given to me and they had quite a bit of surface rust on them. To salvage them I took my DREMEL and sanded the rust off and smoothed the surface on them quite nice. Now they are bare metal and before I can use them, I have to do something with the surface to preserve them. Another hunted told me that he has had great luck in cold bluing old heads. So I thought that sounded like a great idea and would probably look pretty good too.
I have had a lot of great reports on OXPHO-Blue from Brownells, but I know there are others out there that probably work just as well.
I don't know how much I would need, but it wouldn't be that much, at least not enough to justify buying it from Brownells and then have it sit on my shelf for years after I used a small bit of it. I'm just guessing in that maybe 4 or so ounces would be plenty.
If you have any, or other Cold Bluing solution or compound, and wouldn't mind helping me out with this project, how about contacting me and working something out? I would prefer to pay with PayPal and I would cover any related charges.
Please help if you can. I would really appreciate it.
Have a great Turkey Weekend!!
