Wow. Some of you really seem to have a lot of contempt for those who possess an FFL.
I have one and I'm quite open about it. I wouldn't even consider myself a quasi-dealer, as the items I sell are usually guns and gear I personally own. In fact, some of the merchandise I have had for sale here, was sold at below or at dealer cost.
The reason I purchased a license, was obviously, to buy guns and gear at wholesale. Also, I wanted to help my friends with purchases. Hell, even they understand I have to charge a little over cost so I can pay my license fees, local retail fees, etc. In fact, they encourage it. They want me to stay in "business" so they can get super deals on stuff.
It's a pleasure when you can provide a member here with quality goods at very reasonable prices. Other dealers may take exception to my motives, but they'll simply have to get over it. I'm not in competition with them anyway!
Now it seems, I'm between dealers who have contempt for me, and members who have contempt for me, (or others like me).
For your information, I can't afford a 'Platinum' or 'Dealer' status at this time. Before you voice your opinions about the negative aspects of dealers, consider this;
I think it's good to remember that not all dealers are your enemy. In fact, we might just be handy, and economically sound, to have around.
