I have this monster case and I have no need for it anymore. This is NOT the standard Pelican rifle case, it is a MONSTER and it has INTERIOR DIMENSIONS of 54.58" Length x 15.58" wide x 8.63" deep. It weighs 27# with foam. See photos, I cut it out for a rem 700 based rifle with a 32" barrel and NF NXS Scope and Seekins DBM that was 52" OAL just too big for a standard case. This will hold a rifle with an AOL of up to 54". It also has a cutout for a Colt 6940 and 2 mags or handguns. You can get replacement foam or use your own if these don't suit you.
I'm guessing if you wanted to transport M4s or similar that you could get 8 of them in here. Or even more handguns or SBRs. (It's extra deep as well as extra long.)
The caveat with this case is that if you fill it to capacity it is over 50#. But if you're active duty military, you can check it with up to 100# in it for no extra charge. Same MAY apply for LEO, but I"m not positive on that. If your employer pays for your travel, you're golden.
It has wheels, handles on each end, 6 latches, and metal grommets on the 4 locking loops. No defects, only minor signs of use/wear.
This is about the biggest baddest case you can buy if you're storing or transporting a really big or long rifle (works great for 50 BMGs too) or multiple smaller units. If you do a search you will see that I weighed in several years back on the "best case" thread - I've owned several varieties of Starlight, Storm, Pelican and several other cases, and the Pelican is, overall the best in my opinion.
This has been used on about 5 flights from West to East and back. I paid $389 in 2011 and I will include the invoice with it.
Because of the size and weight, this is going to probably have to be a local sale in SLC, UT. But if you want to arrange and pay for shipping, be my guest and I'll ship it however you want - but again you will have to pay for shipping.
If you're looking for a massive case and you're local, this is a great deal for you, $100 off a new one and they last a lifetime.
