I was going to get a 1984 2+2 Nissan 300ZX (auto) with about 225k miles as a cheap project car.
Sent a small deposit--total agreed upon price is $275 (I sent a deposit of $125 on it).
The original sellers were grandparents who were going to use it to bribe the grandson to stay in school. He dropped out, and they tried to sell it on Ebay. I caught the last few minutes, and after it didn't sell, I e-mailed them.
Unfortunately for me (right now), I cannot get there with my work schedule to tow the car home. The owners sold the house where is stored and want it moved--as in this weekend.
Figured I'd post it here to see if there are any interested parties. Must be towed quickly.
The car has the heads off the car (all parts are there)--reportedly, the car needs a "head job"--auto supposedly drove well, car is in pretty good shape (had a few pics--interior looks OK, exterior also OK.
Good source of parts or (reportedly) an easy repair.
Pricewise, I personally don't care--give the owners their $150, tow it away and if you feel it is worth more, then give me some to recover my deposit or donate to charity. The trans alone is probably worth more than the total price on the car. You could probably tow it to a salvage yard if you wanted and get more than the $150 for it.
Red (darkish) exterior.
I had saved the ebay auction, but it appears to have fallen off the old auctions (i.e. I don't have any pictures).
If you have any serious interest, I can put you in touch with the owners--hate to leave them hanging, but I cannot get there to pick it up anytime soon (and have more work for other projects than I figured I would).
E-mail me rather than IM.
If it cannot be gone by this weekend, I'll have to tell the owners to get it towed to a salvage yard.
