I bought this on an impulse, and while it is neat to an old 1911 buff like me I really have other uses for the cash. I am offering for sale my new-in-box 45 caliber Rock Island 1911. This is the full-sized model, that in just about every way looks like a GI 1911. I took it out of the box, wiped off the oil, and field stripped it just to see how good a job they did making it. I must say it is pretty slick. Everything is tight, the finish is even, and there are few tool marks. All the parts are metal--I sure wish Kimber would learn something from that. The only thing I am not too crazy about are the grips. The smooth wood just doesn't look as good as some double-diamonds would have, but then Sarco sells those for $12 so no biggie to add them. It came with a Novak mag, which as I understand are good ones. Overall it is a heck of a deal on a USGI pattern 1911.
I will sell the gun shipped to your FFL in the lower 48 states for $300. I prefer paypal or postal money order as payment. In Missouri I will knock off the shipping costs if you will meet me in person with permit in hand. This is a loss on my part, but such is life. I would take partial payment in trade items, such as:
10mm Smith & Wesson mags
10mm 1911 mags (I have a ton of these, so cannot take many)
38 Super 1911 mags from a good manufacturer (again I only need a couple)
USGI 20 round M-14 mags
Trijicon Reflex sight w/ weaver mount (could equal entire gun)
Smith and Wesson 1076,1006,1066 (can add cash)
Email me at email@example.com if interested. I suppose I can shoot some pics, but if you have seen one you know what it looks like. It is new so there is not much to show.
Thanks for looking!
