I noticed that the last group buys thread was in 2017.
Are group buys extinct? Thanks, Gigas |

They have to be done by industry partners.
So find an industry partner that wants to do one and we can bring them back. There are specific rules listed here |

Largely - and I think a lot of it has to do with retail pricing being so low. The AR market is in a pricing trough. It is hard to imagine a way to get deals cheaper in bulk than are currently available through Primary Arms, Quantico/Proven, Palmetto, and others.
I think that there may be some pricing room in the accessory world - I am thinking Surefire, and others at similar price points - but not a lot. -shooter |

I could see some manufacturers doing some group buys if their dealer network is full of inventory with poor sell through, but that presents other issues with their dealers. |

Its a shame it has to be an industry partner...when several members on this forum, myself included, have run multiple, very successful GB's on multiple forums, product lines and price points.
The best group buys are those in which the buy is coordinated with a company that has a proprietary product or segment of the market in which they are the gorilla, the dominant manufacturer. I have asked about running some buys on here, which fell on deaf ears...go figure. Once Trump came into office most of the buys I was working on were out of the price range we negotiated and kept dropping before we could find a bottom. Decided to wait it out...and it still looks like timing is an issue. There are so many products on the market, sitting in inventory, a group buy here and there is not beneficial to a manufacturer. Most were doing them for marketing purposes and to bring in first time buyers. I feel that is still the best marketing angle. If a group buy was an option, what products would warrant the time and energy required to set it up? |

Would be nice. There is a group on Facebook called "TSL group OHIO" request to join the group and you can get group buys or deals going. You dont have to live in Ohio to join the group, thats just the name of it.

I actually just sent @Striker an email for pre-auth to setup a group buy

View Quote If I were one of the advertizers paying for banner space on this forum, you can bet your bottom $$ I would be running group buys here, not only to supplement my position as a advertizing partner, but as a fellow gun enthusiast. Group buys don't detract from forums...they add a lot of value, not to mention bring in new members. |

We have the rules we do because of previous experiences allowing non advertisers to run group buys..
Lets just say they weren't good experiences and therefore only vetted advertisers can run them. We have no say in who, what or when they decide to have a group buy on. |

Why not set up a group buy forum, set a fee for each, run the buy with some parameters, see how it goes...then make a determination.

Yes I read your post and no..we aren't changing the group buy rules.
