Looking to get a weapon light for my AR, what is the best bang for my buck. I'm on a pretty tight budget and I'd like to have a complete set up for under $150 so what do you all suggest.

I may get flamed for this, but if it works, I will use it...

The light cost me 20$ and the mount cost 6$.  I can say that for about 26$ it rocks.
got mine at walmart.

For the haters:
I have 1000+ 1500 rnds as of Jan 07 through mine and a rifle course. It never failed. I traded out the lamp assembly with a surfire p61 120 lumen lamp. Still runs great. I mounted one on my 12 ga too. I put nail polish on the lamp head threads to keep it from unscrewing. I am 500+ 600 ish as of Jan, my boss and I ran a number of boxes w/o counting. Since I secured the bezel w/ nail polish I have had 0 incidents.
Works fine for me....

+1 for the G2 in a good mount.  I had a G2 in a Viking Tactical drop mount and it aligned with as was easy to hit with my thumb will holding the front grip, I swapped that out for my MX6 long gun now since I wanted a light/laser combo but the G2 got sent to the AK and now lives there in the same fashion it did on the AR.

+1 for brightflashlights on the EE board. He puts together a variety of Surefire systems based on the G2, with shock isolated bezel, mount, and various options including remote switch for less than $100
