does anyone know how to work out the magnification of the thermal lenses  there are many but -  for eg. - FLIR Recon M18 640x480 Thermal Monocular - this is listed as having a 18degree fov . but is that 1x mag? , it just does not say in any of the info. then it is listed as having 13.8 x 10.4 degree lens -what does that mean in terms of magnification ?  i cant make head nor tail of it -
nor do they say if they are a fixed focus lens or if it can be turned to focus it

the 320 version says this -
IMAGING PERFORMANCE
FPA resolution 320 x 240
E-Zoom 2x, digital
Field of view 13.8° x 10.4°
Versatility Extender lens option

the 640 version says this -
IMAGING PERFORMANCE
FPA resolution 640 x 480, 320 x 240 (option)
E-Zoom 2x, 4x digital
Field of view 18.7° x 14° (standard), 13.8° x 10.4° (optional)
Versatility Extender lens option
now this - to my mind - implies that it is native 1x magnification , but it just does not confirm this anywhere - it also offers two different lenses which dosent help at all- i would guess the optional narrower field lend could be the 2x - but why cant they just say for sure?
