i've been trying to get ready for appleseed the past few weeks. i started off shooting with the largest rear aperature marked 0-2, i assumed that was 0-200 yds?, and finally got a group. this past weekend i shot again and had to readjust my elavation. when i started to get the same size group i realised that the rear aperature had been switched to the smaller diameter, wich is unmarked.
my rifle is sighted in now with the small peep, will this be the best for appleseed 82'/25m or should sight it in again with the large 0-2 rear? sorry if this is confusing with wrong terminology, i'm pretty new to target shooting. thanks for any help 2D2C my shootin', not great http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=8&f=31&t=344168 |
| The small hole should be best. Those AQT prone stage targets are mighty small at 25m. They're not much wider than your front sight post. I used the t-200 which doesn't have a large/small option. I'm assuming it's the smaller of the 2 on the t-100. Even in the standing stage, the entire target is visible. You'll have a great time at that shoot and your groups will shrink with what you learn there. |

i can't focus well with mine inside, but laying in the sun the rear sight really opens up. same with the rear sight on my stg 58. i also found that i focus better on the sights without my prescription glasses. 2D2C I wear prescription glasses to read and work on small parts, but not while I'm shooting either. As you will learn at the Appleseed shoot, your main focus should be only on the front sight. Your rear sight and target should be a little fuzzy. |

I really want to go to an appleseed. I'm gonna try to go to the one in pa on april 19th. I built this 10/22 with appleseed in mind That should serve you well. I would suggest adding a USGI M14/M1 sling and make sure you have a good cheekweld with that stock. |
